Best of 2k17

These are not confined to things that came out in the year of 2017, but rather the things I enjoyed this year.

Best Song:

"Particles" - Nothing But Thieves

This song, as I mentioned in the previous post, is my favorite song.

Runner up: "Agnes" - Glass Animals

Best Movie:

Manchester By the Sea

My goodness is this movie beautiful. I was so moved by the performances and the depth of the subject matter. I highly recommend this film even though it is pretty depressing.

Runner up: Hacksaw Ridge

Best Show:

Stranger Things

I am sure that everyone has now watched this show, but for good reason. My brother and I watched Season 2 together in three days, but, even more impressive, I watched Season 1 in less than two whole days. Seriously, if you have not watched this, hop on the train. It is addicting and enthralling.

Runner up: The Carrie Diaries

Best Book:

The Catcher in the Rye

I. Love. This. Book. My goodness is this one of the most spectacularly written, intricate novels. I was so pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed it so much. I can honestly say that after The Great Gatsby, The Catcher in the Rye is my favorite book.

Runner up: Milk and Honey

Best App:

Duolingo

Oh Duolingo. Thank you for allowing me to start learning Korean. I was going to die without it. Also, I am now 50% fluent in French. Thanks to this app, I may be fluent in 4 languages in the future. This app makes it so easy and fast to learn languages, like five minutes a day and you are set.

Runner up: Snapseed

Best Electronic:

Tie: Beats Studio Wireless Headphones // Amazon Echo Dot

Believe me when I say that I would die without my Beats. They make my music quality PERFECTION and are especially essential on the plane to cancel out the annoying noise. My Echo Dot is probably one of the best things ever. I can ask it anything and it will tell me, but most importantly, it makes my room less boring with music. I can listen to international music stations and whole albums and there is this playlist for sleep that knocks me out in five minutes. It is seriously great.

Runner up: Heated Blanket (My love)

Best Place Visited:

Erdek, Turkey

If there is a place that ever replaces Erdek, it would have to be one heck of a place. It is my wish to have a summer house there when I am older just to go for therapeutic purposes because everything about it is perfect: the beach, the shops, the cafes, everything. I could stay there for the rest of my life and be fully content. In fact, that sounds like a good idea.

Runner up: Montreal, Canada
