This summer, my family and I took a quick road trip to Canada before I started my summer internship just for a brief vacation. This was one of the most memorable trips I have had: we stopped at Lake George for a night and we got to see the border between Canada.
Day 1: Notre Dame and Poutine Experimentation
On day one, we arrived to Montreal from Lake George. Immediately, the
discovering began. We went to the Notre Dame, a replica of the one in Paris and
went to the old part of the city. We also walked around the area of our
bed-and-breakfast and discovered a spot called "Vladimir Poutine" and
had our first taste of poutine. There was some sort of festival going on for
the days leading up to Saint-Jean Babtiste Day (Fete Nationale).

Day 2: Saint Joseph's Oratory, Olympic Stadium, and
Habitat 67
On this day, we spent a long time visiting Saint Jospeh's Oratory, a
beautiful basilica with beautiful gardens and views of Montreal. From there, we
went to the Olympic Stadium and took some bomb photos, then watched the divers
jump of the 10 meter block. We were able to visit Habitat 67, which was at the top of
my must-visit list because of the story around it, plus it is such a cool
structure (literally, how do you get into these houses?). Finally, for dinner,
we had bomb burgers and mac-and-cheese at Montreal Burger Bar.

Day 3: Vieux-Montreal
For our last day, we once again went on adventures in Vieux-Montreal and visited many souvenir shops there. We looked at artwork being sold on the streets, then got ready to leave. Just a note: If you are traveling by car from Canada back to America, do not buy all of your souvenirs in the city. There is a giant souvenir shop near the border that sells good quality souvenirs, but way cheaper.
Happy Traveling
