High school, the transition from the awkward stage to the slightly less awkward stage, the moving from childhood to adulthood, and the best and worst years of your life. Here are some observations I have had as I start my senior year of high school.
1. You will become increasingly comfortable around people.
This is so real. I legit sang walking down the hallway, impersonating Jean Valjean. Singing Les Mis in public is where I usually draw the line in terms of self-embarassment, but I just stopped caring. You will also not care about speaking your mind, being yourself, etc. All of the suppressed feelings you have from trying to act socially acceptable will just come out.2. There is no such thing as too much sleep.
Oh the inevitable sleep-deprivation. As a high school student myself taking all AP classes and honors classes, sleep is never attainable, but after a while, you get used to pulling all nighters or sleeping for four hours, then completely binging on sleep the next day. Its a vicious cycle, but it is (a really selfish feeling) comforting to know that your friends are suffering along with you.
3. You will start feeling really nostalgic all the time.
You will literally start looking at photos you have taken during high school with your friends for hours. I started to get emotional thinking that I will never be in high school ever again after senior year and will never be with all of my friends all together again either.
4. Your life will revolve around college.
Once applying starts, that is all that you can think about, do, and worry about. People will interrogate you on your college choices and give you strange advice. You will also feel really depressed when thinking about how all of your friends are moving somewhere else.
5. You will realize that even though high school sucks, there are some amazing, unforgettable moments.
Prom, trips, sleepovers, events: nothing more to say...
Live to the fullest
