I know that some of my opinions will be controversial and I encourage you to disagree with me, but please accept my opinions. Just because I didn't enjoy something, does not mean that you won't.
1) A Popular Book or Series You Didn't Like
All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven
This book has the lowest rating I have ever given a book. I gave it one out of five stars. It deals with a very serious topic (suicide), but handles it in a terrible way. No adults tried to help these suicidal children out and that was the thing that bothered me the most. The friendship between the two main characters felt so forced. They felt so fake and unrealistic and the ending was so predictable.
2) A Popular Book or Series That Everyone Else Seems to Hate, But You Love
Dairy Queen Series by Catherine Gilbert Murdock
I read this series when I was younger and I completely fell in love with it. The characters were so great and the simple plot line was so interesting and real. I really loved this series and I wish more people would read it. It has a low rating and I don't understand why.
3) A Love Triangle Where the Main Character Did Not End Up With The Person You Wanted Them To End Up With
The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins
This is not exactly a love triangle, but I totally shipped Finnick with Katniss over Peeta and Gale. Sorry, guys, but Finnick is the true book boyfriend of The Hunger Games. Team Finnick!!! Not that I don't love Peeta and Katniss together.
4) A Popular Book Genre That You Hardly Reach For
Classics
I just can't get into classics. I have enjoyed some, but generally classics take me forever to get through. It may be because I have a hard time connecting and relating to the characters.
5) A Popular of Beloved Character You Do Not Like
Tris from the Divergent Trilogy
Don't get me wrong, I loved Tris in the first book, but as the series went on, she just annoyed me. Some of the decisions she made were downright ridiculous. I just found myself liking her less and less.
6) A Popular Author That You Can't Seem to Get Into
Colleen Hoover
I read Slammed and Finding Cinderella by Colleen Hoover and did not particularly enjoy either of them. However, I will give her books another shot just because everyone seems to adore her.
7) A Popular Book Trope That You Are Tired of Seeing
In-Your-Face Love Triangles
I am not talking about the lovely love triangles in books like Clockwork Angel, but the ones where the entire book seems to be focused on the relationship between three characters. It makes me sad when my OTP does not end up together or when an entire book is centered around the love triangle.
8) A Popular Book Series You Have No Interest in Reading
The Vampire Academy Series by Richelle Mead
I just have no interest in vampires to be quite honest. I think that the hype around Twilight ruined it for me. I heard this series was fantastic, but I don't think I'll pick it up.
9) And Finally... What Movie or TV Show Adaptation Did You Like More Than The Book
The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak
Hear me out on this one. The Book Thief was an amazing book, but I felt a deeper connection with the movie characters. I appreciate a story more if I feel for the characters and in the movie, the characters felt stronger to me.
I tag all of you to do this tag. It is so fun and interesting to talk about. Leave me your unpopular opinions in the comment section.
